We have added a couple of coming attractions to our preview of fall’s restaurant openings, both with their sights set on Downtown. First and Hope is a supper club headed for the eponymous intersection where the Disney Concert Hall basks in the sun. Plans are to serve modern American comfort food and an opening is expected once construction is finished, most likely after September. We probably don’t need to tell you what’s going to be served at Schmidt’s Brauhaus, but we will anyway. A 7,000 square-foot space will sling German sausages, pretzels, and the like, both indoors by a fireplace and in a separate beer garden, which they call a “biergarten.” Expect this one to oom-pah its way between Olive and Hill on Olympic, probably sometime after Mid-October.
