San Luis Obispo County’s Windrose Farm showcase their organic produce this Sunday at Ammo’s Farm-to-Table dinner, paired with Tablas Creek who will pour organic wines. Starting with small deliveries of heirloom tomatoes to farmer’s markets in 1993 between their day jobs, Bill and Barbara Spencer currently run a 50-acre eco-farm dedicated to sustainability, with a sheep flock, 40 heirloom apple varieties in an orchard, as well as a range of produce from garlic and squash to potatoes and stone fruit. Found at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market, their frequent customers include fresh produce heavyweights like A.O.C., Gjelina, and Palate Food + Wine. We spoke a minute with Barbara Spencer who is excited for Sunday,”This is not just throwing a winery together with a farm for dinner to see if they work. We are very close with Tablas Creek and Tommy Oldre, who is a close neighbor of our’s. We’ll be there together and it will be a lot of fun. Tommy will explain how the wines and produce are grown and how they work together.” We have the menu for you to take a peek at:
