La Provence Expands to Brentwood

Baker extraordinaire Farshid Hakim is set to open the long-expected Brentwood location of his popular La Provence Patisserie and Café next Tuesday. Hakim has been widely celebrated for his macaroons and hand-blended coffee drinks, and has created many a cake for celebrity soirees, all while working from a tiny space on Olympic. The Brentwood locale is much larger, as is the menu, which has expanded to include dinner. Hakim has added only a few dishes to his current lunch menu, including the daily specials that were the most popular in Beverly Hills, like his herb-crusted salmon, gruyere mac ‘n cheese, lamb chops, and homemade beef and turkey burgers. He will also be serving Intelligentisa coffee, making it the only Brentwood spot to find the gourmet brand.

The space will resemble the Beverly Hills store, with an antique-strewn, tea salon vibe which is certain to be full in the first few weeks. French-trained Hakim tells us,”for years customers have been driving to our Beverly Hills location from Brentwood. Now I get calls every day asking if we’re open yet. It’s very encouraging. Plus, I’ve always wanted to have a store in Brentwood.”

La Provence’s highly detailed and highly priced pastries should be a big hit in Bwood, just as the new dinner menu will charm old fans who no longer have to deal with the West-East afternoon traffic for a bite.

La Provence opens next Tuesday at 11677 San Vicente Blvd. on the third floor of The Brentwood Gardens Building.
