Wolfgang Puck

Hey Guys, Puck Is Sick of Your Sweats

If anyone knows our diners, it’s Wolfgang Puck, who despite running our restaurant scene for nearly three decades, always looks handsome and neatly pressed. You fellas, however, not so much. When asked by The Washington Times about the difference in D.C. and L.A. diners at the second anniversary of his D.C. restaurant Source, the Wolfman called it like he’s seen it. “In D.C…they get dressed to go out. In L.A., the men especially don’t like to get dressed up. They prefer to wear sweats.” Oof, ow! Tis’ true though, sleeveless shirts and backward ball caps are not unheard of in L.A.’s upscale restaurants, though we think the dress code is looser where young Hollywood dines and poses, and not necessarily at Melisse or Ortolan. Still, Puck did drop just a soupcon of casual into California’s cuisine over the years, possibly helping to coax this particular be-shorted and flip-flopped monster to emerge come dinner-time.
