Yesterday, L.A.'s 3rd Annual Luxury Chocolate Salon taught Pasadena that nearly everything tastes better when covered in chocolate.We spent over three hours nibbling on such fare as chocolate-covered bacon, chocolate cocktails, Tabasco-spiked chocolate, wasabi pea chocolate, raw chocolate, truffles infused with South Asian spices, root beer, and lemongrass, and even had a chance to eat a chocolate cast of our president. With stunning truffle collections from XT Patisserie, Christopher Michael, Mignon, Choclatique, Artisan Cocoa, Chocoveda, Amano, and Happy Chocolates, as well as ambitious set pieces by students from the nearby Culinary School of the Arts, the sweets were often too attractive to eat, but we certainly took our best shot.
