Top chefs from Los Angeles (and Bravo) rallied yesterday at SaddleRock Ranch in Malibu for Los Angeles magazine's "The Food Event 09." A stunning spread of mountaintop grapevines was complimented by an exotic menagerie including zebra, camels, and buffalo, as well as a beautifully breezy day at the home of Malibu Family Wines. In addition to a panel of Top Chef vets and cooking demonstrations by chef Andrew Kirschner of Wilshire and Sona/Comme Ca's David Myers (who wouldn't budge in discussing the new projects he apparently has in the works, according to MC Jeffrey Saad), among others, a chef-studded landscape of small plates and great California wines made it a tasting event to cherish.
