Enterprise Fish Co. is getting stuck in the seventies this week. Both today and tomorrow the seafood restaurant is rolling prices back to what was originally offered when they opened in Santa Monica 30 years ago. That means a cup of chowder is only $1.25, Bud Lights a buck, and oyster shooters come in at 75 cents. Plates of salmon and snapper will be just below eight, though a burger still doesn’t sound that super-cheap at $4.95.
The original location, still in Santa Barbara, is only a few years older than this L.A. outpost that attracts a less scholastic crowd in a more urbane space. Enterprise typically gets very crowded on Mondays and Tuesdays when running their popular $29.95 two-pound lobster dinner, so you better be comfortable with many times more the crush of fish-heads (including a possible sauced cameo by Seymour Cassel) if you’re yearning to dine like it’s ‘79 again.
