Grill 'Em All Puts the Metal Back Into Food Trucks

The newest food truck on its way is The Grill 'Em All Burger Truck, rolling-out December 15th according to the truck's own Matt Chernus. Their Metallica obsession continues with a colorful riff on the band's logo and the burgers, which plan to change regularly, all sport hard-rocking names like the Molly Hatchet (seared fennel sausage gravy, bacon, and maple syrup) or The Reigning Bun, a Slayer-friendly burger with pepper jack cheese, four pepper relish, and lemon pepper crème fraiche. There will also be panko-crusted, cheese-filled tater tots called H-100's available as well as hand-cut frites. Chernus' partner is Chef Ryan Harkins, and both have backgrounds in various kitchens from their native Mid-West to their adopted Los Angeles. The truck's rise can be followed on Twitter.

  • In the 90's when Ryan invented the Cleveland Clam milkshake I knew that the only place down enough to handle the chef from the West had to lay on the far side of the fault. Eat the meat.

  • They're taking an idea and running with it. Lots of places use the same concepts and make it their own. As long as their burgers are different than Kuma's, I don't see what the problem is. Kudos to the Grill Em All Burger Truck!

  • These guys are totally ripping of Chicago's Kumas Corner. All of their burgers are named after metal bands. Check out their menu. http://www.kumascorner.com/html/food.html http://www.yelp.com/biz/kumas-corner-chicago
