Evan Kleiman’s Angeli Caffé celebrates its 25th birthday on Melrose this Wednesday, a feat we can’t imagine many others accomplishing on the always-in-fashion avenue. In the obsessive style we saw her bake pies in, Kleiman is paying customers back with special dinner menus that rest on nary a laurel, varying each night based on what she finds at market.

Eat L.A. mentions that these menus will offer three courses for just $25, which would have barely bought us three cassette tapes back in ‘84. Best of all, they will be offered every day throughout 2010. This means, economic recovery or not, you’re guaranteed a good dinner deal from a revolutionary local chef who continues to innovate and more importantly, care passionately about her cuisine and guests. The $25 dinners are now being served. 323-936-9086.
