Roaming Hunger Strives to Build a Better Food Truck Trap

Every time we cross the street it seems a new food truck is whizzing by us. Whereas the problem used to be there was more hype than actual wheeled restaurants, today there are too many to keep track of. Roaming Hunger thinks they have a solution, having launched what they call “the hub for all things street food” in L.A. yesterday. The site organizes trucks by banner in seemingly random order, with the vendor’s last Twitter message below, which is helpful when it tells us where the freaking thing is, less so when it’s a cute message to followers. In other words, the site is so-so in meeting our organizational needs.

There’s also space provided for giving trucks the thumbs up if you like them, while clicking on each profile reveals the latest known location via map, as well as details provided by each truck. One thing we feel they’re truly missing to become the best street food hub is a homepage map that shows real-time, up-to-date locations so we can make just one-stop from stomach rumbling to parked truck, without too much needless clicking around and searching. Without this, Roaming Hunger only resembles a better-looking, if better functioning, version of the attempt already made by FindLAFoodTrucks.
