We were just forwarded a copy of Assouline's latest newsletter, which reveals details of its partnership with Joe Pytka's Bastide, as well as a date for everyone to check out the reopening restaurant-turning bookseller. Bass-ouline, or Ass-tide, as we're so dying to call it, will have a grand-opening open-house this Monday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., though there's no mention whether full food service will be happening. The bookseller refers to the location as Assouline West Hollywood. We wonder if Pytka is aware of that. They say guests will browse books in the main library and vintage book room, and dine in the Kitchen and Garden Rooms. There will also be a library design studio as well as book personalization services at their first "location serving food and cocktails." We have to ask again how recognizable Bastide's rebirth will be?
