Waiting at the Nom Nom bann mi truck this weekend in the hopes that their gorgeous cast of caterers might emerge onto Lil’ Little Tokyo on Sawtelle, a potential new rival rolled up across the street named Phamish. While this “pha-mily-owned” food truck does serve the traditional sandwiches, there’s more on their menu of Vietnamese home-cooking, with five different spring rolls (Goi cuon), four kinds of pho, and Vietnamese iced coffee. For catering jobs, they bust out shaken beef and betel-leaf wrapped ground beef, along with salads and other finger foods. There are even lemongrass tofu versions of its banh mi and spring rolls for vegetarians, though we’re more fond of the grilled pork patty sticks and rare steak pho. Phamish is trackable on Twitter, with a menu visible on its website and seems to be spending most of its time in West L.A. and Miracle Mile, where it plans to set up for lunch today.
