Naked Sushi closed in January, leaving sister restaurant Mercedes Grille with a great location in need of a new concept. Enter Bin 73 wine bar, which quickly took root over the last three weeks one block from the beach on Washington Blvd. An outdoor patio has been sprruced up pn the sidewalk, with a simple, slim interior bearing streaks of rustic burnt shades, a tapas-sized bar, and giant blackboards heavy on Spanish, South American, and Italian wines available in three-ounce, seven-ounce, and bottle options. Food is a simple selection of upscale bar eats, all under ten dollars, with fare like ahi sliders, smoked ham, pear, and brie panini, salads with fresh burrata, smoked bacon and mushroom profiteroles, and truffle cheese fries. Bin 73 opens its door tonight to the public for a grand-opening from 6:30-10:00 P.M. that promises free bar nibbles and live music. In the meantime, check out our slide show of Bin 73.
