Rincon Chileno has become a gathering point for Los Angeles’ Chilean community following the country’s devastating earthquake. Coming for the comforts of wine and “pastel de choco,” ex-pats from Chile are gathering at the restaurant to seek news about missing relatives and bond together with other Chilean-Americans. Owner Ricardo Flores notes that “people here are consoling each other.” [Daily News] Update: L.A.T. reports this Rosemead restaurant will hold a fundraiser in the coming week.
