Tony’s Darts Away Plans Bottle-less Bars in Burbank and Echo Park

Tony’s Darts Away, the cruddy restaurant/bar housed on Burbank’s Magnolia Blvd. since The Sixties, is getting a new feel under a new Tony. The pub is now run by Tony Yanow, who lets us know by press announcement that he’s creating a completely bottle-less bar with craft beer and sodas on tap and often rare wines served from barrels. Sounds like Yanow has spent serious time at Golden State and Wurstkuche, as he’s focusing on wines and suds exclusively from Cali, with over 30 draft selections of SoCal brew, plus artisan sausages made locally, with options for vegans and the carnivorous. There will also be salads, cheese plates, and fried bar snacks, all sourced from our state. And what about the interior?

Tony’s dive bar atmosphere will remain, with most of the design changes taking place behind the bar, though a wall of regulars’ photos is planned along with a library with Yanow’s favorite beer books for hopheads to study. Flipping a finger to gentrification, regulars will also enjoy a fixed price on beer, payment for staying loyal. After an opening in April at 1710 Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, Tony’s website reveals another location planned on Sunset in Echo Park.
