Where to Audition for Bobby Flay’s New Show

L.A. food fanatics have never had an easier time getting on television as the number of shows about amateur cooks and struggling restaurants grows. On April 5th, NBC will set up casting couches in Burbank’s Chipotle in an open call to find contestants for Bobby Flay’s forthcoming show America’s Next Great Restaurant. On the show, Flay and the usual cast of famous guest-star chefs will put contestants through various kitchen challenges before finally declaring a winner then backing their idea for a chain restaurant. The casting call will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. that Monday at 135 E. Palm Ave. in
Burbank, but potential stars need to pre-register with NBC online. Where else can you audition for your own food show?

Well, if conceiving of your own restaurant chain sounds a little tricky, surely everyone can excel at sucking. To that end, Squid Ink lets us know that Worst Cooks in America is casting at Burbank’s L.A. Marriott Hotel next Saturday, March 27th. If you screw up even simple cereal yourself, but are a little camera-shy, the show recommends nominating other bad cooks in your life who need an “intervention.” The casting call takes place at 2500 N. Hollywood Way in Burbank from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. on March 27th.

If being harassed by Bobby Flay holds little appeal for you and you’d rather keep your own kitchen nightmares hidden, maybe you can get a job on Ace of Cakes, whose star Baltimore bakery tells Maryland Gazette that they are “looking into a West Coast location in Los Angeles.” Pastry chefs, prepare your pans!
