Wolfgang Puck has been named as the celebrity chef who will open a restaurant at the new Ritz Carlton coming to Downtown later this month. Angeleno critic Brad A. Johnson hits us with the news that Puck is planning an Asian-influenced fine-dining destination called WP24 on the hotel’s 24th floor. Puck will put David McIntyre, an alum of Spago and Cut, in the kitchen as chef de cuisine while the interior design is being handled by iCrave, the designers of Playhouse, Hyde, STK, and Geisha House. The restaurant, which will also have heavy input from Puck’s corporate exec chef Lee Hefter, will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Johnson, Modern Luxury’s travel editor, predicts that WP24 will be in a similar vein as Puck’s acclaimed Dallas restaurant Five Sixty.
