Guess who’s coming to Sunday Suppers? The Viceroy’s Whist and Four Daughters Kitchen in Manhattan Beach are both embracing the tradition popular at Lucques and Dominick's, gaining ground at Palate and Eva, and having a swan-song this weekend at Marche. Starting May 2nd, Whist will rotate prix-fixe menus every Sunday through June 20th featuring chef Tony DiSalvo’s takes on the kinds of comfort classics served at Campanile’s Monday dinners. The themed menus will highlight summery sustenance like buttermilk chicken and whiskey-caramel pecan pie one week and clam chowder with a lobster and shrimp broil on another. The Manhattan Beach restaurant appears to be all about 'family values," named as it is for the multiple offspring of owner and SBE-alum Clint Clausen. Tomorrow night, 4DK introduces dinner service after three months open for brunch and lunch. There will be original dishes of ground Kobe beef taco salad, chorizo pizza, and whiskey salmon from chef Sean Chaney. On May 16th, 4DK starts its own version of “Sunday Suppers.” We’re yet to see a menu but the prices prove it's probably worth a shot, with a three-course pre-fixe menu for just $15, and bottles of wine priced at $10 and Drifter Pale Ale for $2.
