For 26 years, Venice’s Bonne Bouffe Catering and Desserts has been cooking for high-profile Hollywood events and parties and also styling food on film sets like It’s Complicated. During weekends, the Venice Blvd. storefront becomes a creperie under owner Erica Moore-Ciganovic’s husband, a Parisian-trained French pastry chef who started making his own batter for sweet and savory crepes here after local farmers markets had room for only one crepe-maker. Now, Moore-Ciganovic is welcoming a gluten-free organic pizza maker named Pizza-Rina into its facilities during the evenings to offer take-out and delivery orders of meat-free pizza with a slight Nozawa-vibe to it. What does that mean?

Like the sushi master’s famous omakase or the quicker-service “trust me” menus at SugarFish, the pizza recipes are in the hands and minds of the chefs. Pizza-Rina simply asks you to pick a color on its online order form so that the chef may prepare their vision of a pie based on your preference. A massive amount of organic vegetables and everything from asiago to almonds and yellow beets to fingerling potatoes will be considered, though pepperoni or sausage will not be.

Basically, owner Rina asks for your trust, though the cost could be high for a pizza you don’t want, priced at $20 for a small and $35 for a large. Those who want to have one of these gluten-free pies delivered or made for takeout can find full ordering information on Pizza-Rina’s website, as well as the full list of toppings.
