Another sushi truck is now serving our streets, this one called Yatta!, which means “I did it!” in Japanese, according to the caterer’s Facebook. If Fishlips is the city’s OG sushi truck, sticking to tradition with its temari, the Yatta Truck represents the unholy fusion of sushi rolls with American ingredients. Among its creations, Yatta serves a deepfried cheeseburger roll, a spicy tuna “cream cheese explosion,” poki roll with ahi, and “Subway rolls,” where you pick the ingredients and they make a roll your way, maybe even right away. The fun doesn’t stop there, as Yatta appears to employ its own ninja to hoo-ride with the truck and make a general spectacle of himself. The truck is currently offering a promotion for the first 20 people who say “Yatta!” everyday upon their opening through July 19th, earning them one free roll with their order, with more details on Facebook. The truck is currently trackable on Twitter.
