Rather than retreat into a quiet retirement over his signature matzo brei at Beverly Hills' Nate 'N Al, Larry King is bringing his favorite breakfast haunt some competition. King signed on as spokesperson for The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co., a Florida-based business that claims to "Brooklynize" the water used in its bagels through a 14-part treatment that hopefully doesn't include a "Gowanus" stage.
King will help open a test-location of the chain in Beverly Hills by this November, adding "scoop-melts" and bagel pizzas to our streets while setting the stage for 25 more locations in L.A, Feast reports. According to a spokesman, the city has had "a tremendous need for a real quality New York Bagel since the beginning of time." So if you're included in that constantly-complaining camp that can't stomach the output at Main Street Bagels or Barney Greengrass, be forewarned: the company promises that King "will be seen there regularly."
The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co., coming to 262 South Beverly Dr. Beverly Hills.
