The Salad Bowl Opening in Beverly Hills This Week

A Texas-based chain called The Salad Bowl is set to open its first California store this week on Canon, next to Beverly Hills’ Tiger Sushi. Whereas Tiger beckons to the flashy nightlife crowd, Salad Bowl seems to be a utilitarian lunch spot for 90210 workers that has been slowly spreading across the Southwest. The concept, created by chef Michael Carroll, is a little like a salad bar with Subway influences, allowing customers to create their own salads with a choice of 50 toppings or have one of their masters toss your salad for you using one of thirteen signature recipes. In addition to salads, there are soups and stuffed baked potatoes, with everything supposedly made in-house and sourced fresh. Salad Bowl’s website announces an opening here as early as this week and with a simple concept centered on healthy eats, has a good chance of catching on during the lunch hour.
