Thierry Perez Planning L’Epicerie in Culver City

Thierry Perez is planning to open L’Épicerie Market in Downtown Culver City towards the end of the summer. The concept involves a cafe serving the day’s three meals, in addition to a retail market selling European food products like chocolate and olive oil, international magazines, and over 150 wines. There’s also a central tasting bar separating the store’s two faces. There guests can read the new issue of Don Diva over samples of cheese, charcuterie, and wine, among other edibles that are sold in the market. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of Culver Blvd. among the space’s 55 indoor seats, while those in need of closer access can dine on an outdoor patio. What’s going to be on the menu?

A super-group of classic European dishes will comprise the menu, though smoked salmon crossant and jambon sandwiches will be ready-to-go for those on the move. Dinner includes coq au vin and paella, in addition to specialties like 36-month aged-ham bellota, sun-dried tomato, arugula, and baby beet tartine and tapas including rillete de canard and here it is again, charcuterie. Belgium waffles, omelets, and crepes rule at breakfast with house-made pastries plus City Bean coffee and juices and smoothies from farmers market fruits.

L’Épicerie Market, coming to 9900 Culver Blvd. Culver City “at the end of summer.”
