What to Eat at The Roosevelt’s Dinner on The Bridge

Photo: The Roosevelt Hotel

On Monday, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel launched “Dinner on The Bridge,” featuring a completely new menu each week served on the property’s Marilyn Monroe Bridge, which is now its own separate entity, having formerly served as an al fresco extension of Dakota steakhouse. This not only gives guests the chance to gaze at the pool’s David Hockney mural and all the pretty people gathered around it, but offers a large list of new dishes that keeps changing. The bounty of our markets serve as the inspiration for summer recipes like grilled radicchio with pesto goat cheese, fried pig cracklings, burrata with cripsy artichokes, ribeye with bone marrow butter, wild mushrooms on toast with veal jus, and rhubarb strawberry tarts with lavender ice cream for dessert. And what’s to drink here?

While entrees are typically priced around $20, everything goes down a little easier with bottomless, self-served, spiced sangrias made from black mission figs, white peaches, and apricots for just seven dollars. Cocktails put a fruity twist on tradition like a blueberry Tom Collins and watermelon smash with rosemary. And if you finally feel yourself worthy, dinner also grants you entrance into Tropicana, once the toughest velvet rope to cross in town and currently, sans the legion of d-bags, provides an enchanting setting of firepits and open sky to grab a drink at. Unless it’s Thursday night, when promotional pool parties bring back the hooting and hollering.

Dinner at The Bridge happens every night from 5:30 to 10:30 P.M. and until 11:00 P.M. on weekends. Reservations are recommended at 323-466-7000 and you can see the first week’s full menu below.
