Set among the courtyards and hallways of Union Station, last Friday's East L.A. Meets Napa was one of the year's best tasting events. Pairing the food of familiar favorites and boundary-pushing Latin restaurants from the Eastside with small, independent wine producers from Napa and Mexico, the evening provided plenty of comforting tastes and standout flavors. From the prized pastries at Porto's Bakery and the gorgeous edible artwork of John Rivera Sedlar to a sneak peak at Steven Arroyo's Escuela and Pomona's forthcoming Luna, East L.A. Meets Napa brought together a treasure trove of talented chefs and dishes that speak to, and from, the heart of the city. Check out our photos of the event in our slide show of the 5th Annual East L.A. Meets Napa.
