Fire Damage

Fires Force Ado and Axe To Close in Venice

Sadly, just as Santino’s is poised to rise from the ashes once again, two nearby restaurants in the Venice area have been closed due to fire damage. Eater reports that Ado, in the cute yellow house on Main Street formerly occupied by Amuse Cafe, had a fire in late June and is looking to August 11th to finally get the doors back open for business, following some delays and pending final inspections. More recently, Abbot-Kinney’s Axe took water and smoke damage, plus broken windows (possibly from a fireman’s swing of the restaurant’s namesake) from a fire in or behind the restaurant yesterday, leading to its closure while things get cleaned up. Here’s wishing these two near neighbors a swift recovery.
