PA2gh translates more or less to the word for “hangout” in Farsi

A little further east of forthcoming Naan Hut, a new Persian and Mediterranean deli, restaurant, and bakery called PA2GH grand-opened last night. The owner is Ramin Nouri, a young man who already worked in four different neighborhood Persian spots before deciding to open his own. Seeing that the cuisine itself gets misspelled as “Meditarian” on a menu, it’s clear Nouri has a weird way with words. The name PA2GH breaks down more or less to “Patogh,” a Farsi word for hangout. To that end, Nouri is supplying an assortment of water-pipes and sidewalk seating to accompany his baked goods, sweets, and coffee, plus a huge menu of kebab in preps of beef, lamb, chicken, and fish, stews and soups, salads, rice dishes, and sandwiches. Salmon and white fish kebab, lamb shank, and a hearty veal stew with split yellow peas sound worth a try already. Check out our slide show of PA2GH and see the menus on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
