Now that Food & Wine and Los Angeles Times have duked it out for tasting festival supremacy, we turn our attention to the O.G. Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff are back for the 28th time with American Wine and Food Festival, bringing chef friends from across the nation to cook on Universal Studios’ backlot in a continuing effort that has, so far, raised over $15 million for Meals on Wheels over the years. What can you expect this year?

The night begins at 5:00 P.M. for VIPs with a cooking demo by Puck, then opens at 6:00 for about 2,700 attendees. In addition to appearances and tastes from the likes of Thomas Keller, Pierro Selvaggio, Nobu, Nancy Silverton, and an after-hours pastry and port lounge by Spago pastry chef Sherry yard, where Francois Payard will set up shop, this will be the first time to taste the culinary lineup of Vegas’ forthcoming hotel The Cosmopolitan. That includes previews of Jose Andres’ two new restaurants, David Myers with Comme Ca, and Scott Conant’s Scarpetta, among others. $300 tickets are available online for the September 25th event, with the full list of participating wineries and restaurants on AWFF’s website.
