The Parlor Hollywood Turns A Sports Bar Into A Gastropub

The Parlor Hollywood, opened in June in the closed El Guapo space, has a completely new menu, designed by a few local big guns, executive chefs Rodelio Aglibot (Koi, BLT, Sunda) and Frank Fronda (Napa Valley Grille and Four Seasons), through Genesis Gourmet Group. The cuisine has gone in a gastropub direction to duel with its 20 draft beers including Weltenburger Barock Dunkel, apparently the world's oldest dark beer still being served, as well as their cocktails and more than beers in 30 bottles. The Parlor enters the charcuterie craze, with Spanish chorizo and two Italian meats, while on the more casual end, there are eight different sliders like the onion-ring topped Western and a chili cheddar. Elsewhere, find a gamut of global bar eats, from reasonably priced steamed black mussels in a lemongrass and ginger sake broth, lamb chop lollipops, a carnitas-laden grilled cheese, salads, Parlor poutine, and BBQ potato chips made in-house.
