This Saturday, Zocalo Public Square threw a Prohibition-era themed bash, with L.A. Weekly critic Jonathan Gold as host, in a gorgeously rendered wing of Union Station. Though the food ran out a little fast, great company and inspired cocktails ruled the evening, like at any great cocktail party. Chef Ludo Lefebvre took a night off from cooking to mingle with his many fans and talk shop with Test Kitchen co-owner Brian Saltsburg. Pal Cabron/Guelaguetza's Bricia Lopez, Chicks With Knives' Rachael Narins, and Zocalo's own Dulce Vazquez brightened the room with their bright smiles and elegant charms. First & Hope's new chef Joseph Panarello dished about his forthcoming menu and Rivera bridged the conexiones between new and old world gazapacho. Old white guys attempted what they call dancing and 213's hot bartenders chipped ice while showing off their cutting edge libations. Check out our slide show below to see a few of the evening's highlights.
