UPDATE: FarmShop passed its inspections this morning and will open its bakery at 7:00 A.M. on Friday morning.
A FarmShop rep sends us news that the final inspections are underway at this breakout project from Thomas Keller confidante Jeff Cerciello. Best case scenario is an opening this Friday of just the bakery, though the inspection and permitting process sure has a way of causing further unseen delays. According to yesterday’s Westside Today, there also appears to be a simmering conflict between Brentwood Country Mart and adjacent neighbors, with FarmShop stuck in the middle.

Though all parties claim to want the restaurant to open its doors, neighbors are reportedly expressing concerns about parking, operating hours, and noise during hearings for the restaurant’s application for a waiver to serve beer and wine. Developer Jim Rosenfeld, the operator of Brentwood Country mart, says he’s lost seven million dollars on the property so far and is hedging bets heavily on FarmShop’s success to ensure the future of the Brentwood shopping complex.
