Jamie Lauren, who boasts an average 105 on the Chicago Tribune's Top Chef Power Ranking (compared with a 50 for today's New York Diet subject Nikki Cascone) joined Marina del Rey gastropub Beechwood last month and added her own eclectic spin to the menu. Last night, we got a look at Lauren's new dishes at a media preview, finding a mix of tender beef cheeks, flavorful fried oysters, duck confit tacos, so-called "white trash"-themed dishes, and even an edible "I Told You So" created with Padma Lakshmi in mind.
