With yesterday's opening of L'Epicerie, Fraiche founder Thierry Perez brings Culver City a huge European market selling delicacies, imported magazines, and cooking ingredients, a reliable stock of wine, a bakery with French pressed coffee, fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, muffins, and danishes, and a cafe featuring a market-sourced menu that changes everyday. Which doesn't mean the menu is small in selection, currently offering everything from breakfast with museli, omelets, and eggs florentine to round-the-clock crepes, smoked salmon crossiant, salads, and tartines for lunch, and evening tapas of pork belly confit, beef bourguignon, pig trotter, ceviche, cheese, charcuterie, and cassoulet, which can be taken to-go. Whew! It's basically like an all-encompassing Epcot of everyday European eats. It's also a cool-looking, contemporary expanse wrapped in chocolate tones and stylishly setting off industrial elements like concrete floors, granite counters, and exposed pipes and vents peeking through the ceiling. Check out our slide show of L'Epicerie below.
