Jacopo’s Closes in Beverly Hills; Scoops Opens in Palms

Beverly Hills: Following a 40-year reign, Jacopo’s Pizzeria has closed due to economy-related struggles. Plans to return are not completely out of the question though. [Eater]
Culver City: 30-year-old neighborhood pioneer Tokyo 7-7 Diner will close on December 18th due to a rent raise. [L.A. Weekly]
Downtown: Death & Co. proprietors David Kaplan and Alex Day have formed Proprietors LLC.. Their first job finds them reinvigorating O Hotel’s O Bar & Kitchen with a new look, Intelligentsia coffee, beer, and wine, and of course cocktails. A new menu is being introduced by chef Vahan Tokmadjian to go with the new drinks. [Eater]

Goleta: Farmers Market vendor Jay Ruskey is growing coffee on the central coast, something that’s been tried before in California with less successful results. [L.A. Times]

Hollywood: Providence is losing its incredible pastry chef Adrian Vasquez after more than four years. Vasquez is relocating to Boston with his family. [L.A. Weekly]
Palms: Scoops Westside opened with seven-plus flavors by Kim Tai and Intelligentsia coffee, under the co-ownership of food blogger Matt “Mattatouille” Kang. [L.A. Weekly]
Santa Monica: Southeast Asian Flavors author Robert Danhi will help throw “Malaysian Night Market” this Friday on Third Street Promenade from 5:30-8:30 P.M. Local restaurants, including Starry Kitchen, Belacan Grill, and Monsoon, are contributing dishes. [Feast]
