Royal Clayton’s, one of L.A.’s best bars for getting one’s Tudors on, has closed to relocate after five years, Squid Ink reports. Clayton’s heavily decked out British pub was a pioneer, blazing a trail on Downtown’s desolate Industrial Street that eventually drew in the “posh” crowd for Church & State, which is right across the street. According to a tweet left by these Royals, the pub will stay Downtown, with an announcement coming in the new year. As the weather outside continues to be very British, it’s a shame there’s one less sanctuary to complete the mood. Maybe checking into The Wellsbourne for a hot toddy is in order?
