There's an easy new way to support Homeboy Industries, Father Gregory Boyle's organization that supports former L.A. gang members through Homeboy Bakery and makes heart-healthy Mexican at Homegirl Cafe. Homeboy Tortilla Chips and Homeboy Salsa (in morita, mango, mild and hot pico de gallo, mole, and salsa verde) are being introduced to 256 Ralph's stores across SoCal, all part of an effort to make the organization financially sustainable since, like many non-profits, it was smacked by the ongoing recession. This Tuesday, January 25th, at 11:00 A.M. at Ralph's, 645 Ninth St., a ceremony will be attended by Father Boyle and Mayor Villaraigosa to celebrate the product's launch. And get ready for a Homeboy food truck to hit the streets soon to promote the product.
