Chasing Komodo down just got a whole lot easier. As L.A. Weekly foretold and Eater confirms, Komodo Truck soft-opened their first brick-and-mortar venture yesterday on Pico at Robertson. The new store will serve as the HQ for the operation of its two trucks and catering department, and provide a daily changing menu for customers who want to try Komodo chef Erwin Tjahyadi’s cooking with a new twist or two at an affordable price point. Going brick-and-mortar seems to be a badge of honor of sorts in an era of stiff competition and massive proliferation among food trucks, showing a truck’s ability to thrive and prosper with a fan base. Next will come a a brick-and-mortar opening from Flying Pink Pig Truck in Downtown, which follows the recent opening of Cafe Con Leche’s cafe in Sherman Oaks.
