Giorgio Baldi, founder of the eponymous Santa Monica Italian restaurant popular with celebrities and entertainment industry players, has passed away while on vacation in Ensenada, Mexico, Hollywood Reporter announces, with Eater pointing to the possibility of a terminal disease as the culprit. Baldi, a native of the Tuscan coast, opened his restaurant in 1990, and is survived by a wife and daughter, both of whom still work at the in-demand restaurant. [Hollywood Reporter]
