It was a pretty weak week for celeb-spotting at L.A. restaurants, with the typical Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried at Fig & Olive-style sightings we’ve come to expect. With one huge exception. President Barack Obama held a fundraiser at Suzanne Goin’s Tavern last night, drawing heavy-weight star appearances to the Brentwood restaurant, while you were cursing chumps in traffic. Among the talent gathered in the room last night were George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, Tom Hanks, Will “When Do I Get to Eat With Grub Street Again?” Ferrell, Steven Spielberg, Jerry Brown, and Jeffrey Katzenberg. How’s that for a room overflowing with juice?! Apparently, The Commander-In-Chief spoke about the base’s values and how he too is frustrated over seemingly frequent capitulations to the Dark Side. We wish we could have been there, both for Jeff Cerciello’s beloved butter-crumbed egg, and for the President. Maybe next year we can, once we unearth a loose $38,500 from the couch. In the meantime, take a look at the Presidential menu below.
