Catching Up With Cafe Motif, Robertson’s New Locavore Cafe

The opening of Cafe Motif passed under our radars when the cute space appeared late last month on Robertson, so we came in for a closer look this week. Founded by local sister duo Elishia Bolour and Sasha Shokrian, the cafe aims to provide a healthy gourmet breakfast and lunch with help from local vendors, along with coffee and tea from Groundworks. The space has a charming bistro feel, aided by a sidewalk patio, marble tables, and reclaimed wooden floors. Seasonal ingredients are similarly calculated with great care in dishes like a homemade ricotta tartine with honey and golden raisins, a salad of quinoa with chopped mint and local greens, fresh-filled sandwiches of turkey and brie on bread from local bakeries, and juices squeezed on the spot. In addition, Motif stocks sweet stuff from L.A. companies, features no dish over ten bucks, and also has an attached store for luxury goods. See the full menu online and take a look into the interior below.
