The OP Cafe Gets A Refresh on Ocean Park

Last time we'd looked in on Santa Monica's OP Cafe, it was a not-so-hot mess dealing with construction issues. Over the last few weeks, the Ocean Park spot has been given an updated look and slight overhaul to its space and menus.

The exterior has been given a new sheen of light, sandy colors, menus have been slightly tweaked, and the inside has been spruced up with wooden pullmans inspired by lifeguard stands, mahogany tables, and wallpaper depicting two lifeguards paddling out, a nod to the owner's family history as local lifeguards. The result is a bungalow-look on the ouside and a cleaner, beachier interior that makes more sense for an oceanic-named cafe in a coast-adjacent neighborhood. In terms of the new menu, OP Cafe has held on to its loyal customers' favorites, while adding simple dishes with house-made meatballs, marinades, sauces, and relish. Along with the new items comes a weekly family supper every Sunday, starting June 5th. Check out O.P. Cafe's new lunch menu below.

CHILAQUILES
Three eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese and corn tortilla chips. Served with black beans, pico dé gallo, sour cream and guacamole.

Two eggs, two bacon strips, ham slices or sausage links and two pancakes.

EGGS BENEDICT / FLORENTINE
Two poached eggs and Canadian bacon or spinach on a toasted english mun topped with housemade hollandaise sauce. Served with home fries.

Chorizo, scrambled eggs and cilantro. Served with home fries and corn tortillas.

HUEVOS RANCHEROS
Our own style: Two eggs on top of corn tortillas, cheddar cheese. On the side: pico dé gallo, sour cream, guacamole, black beans.

BREAKFAST BURRITO
Two eggs, choice of bacon, ham, chorizo or sausage, cheddar cheese, bell peppers, flour tortilla, pico de gallo. Served with home fries.

DIABLO BURRITO
Three eggs scrambled with chorizo, crisp bacon, black beans and home fries in a tortilla with our housemade spicy Diablo sauce. Served with fruit.

THREE EGGS
With any choice of three ingredients: Sausage, Bacon, Grilled Chicken, Ham, Chorizo, Prosciutto, Cheddar Cheese, Tomatoes, Feta Cheese, Sundried Tomatoes,
Goat Cheese, Bell Peppers, Onions, Spinach, Basil, Cilantro, Mushrooms.
Served with home fries and toast or English mun. Add additional items for 75¢ each. Substitute egg whites for $1.50.

Grilled Chicken, black beans, fresh corn, feta cheese, chopped romaine lettuce, pico de gallo, tortilla strips. Housemade Cilanto dressing, whole wheat torilla.

TURKEY PESTO WRAP
Oven roasted turkey, swiss cheese , mixed greens, sliced tomato, pesto mayonnaise, whole wheat tortilla.

GRILLED VEGGIE WRAP
Grilled zucchini, portabello mushroom, roasted red bell peppers, fresh mozzarella cheese, balsamic vinaigrette, spinach tortilla.

Angus beef burger with bibb lettuce and tomato.

GARDEN BURGER
Veggie patty, jack cheese, bibb lettuce, tomato, and avocado ranch.

THE OP BURGER
Angus beef burger, caramelized onion, gorgonzola cheese, and arugula.

OP HOUSE SALAD
Mixed spring greens, candied walnuts, sundried cranberries, gorgonzola with balsamic vinaigrette.
Add grilled chicken for 2.00 or 2.50 for tuna.

MEXICAN GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD
Black beans, roasted corn, fresh pico de gallo, over mixed greens with a chipotle ranch dressing.

CAESAR SALAD
Fresh romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, tossed with traditional Caesar dressing. Add grilled chicken for 2.00.

Romaine lettuce, chicken, tomato, avocado, bacon, swiss, blue cheese and ranch dressing.
