What to Eat at Katana's Red Sun BBQ, Back This Sunday

This Sunday officially icks off the start of barbecue season and that means Katana is bringing back its summer-long Red Sun BBQ, which throws a few novel creations onto its Japanese menu. The event runs every Sunday through Labor Day on the slick restaurant's al fresco patio and draws a chi-chi crowd for DJs, sake sangria, and a la carte dishes like a Japanese lobster roll and an albacore cannoli.

While the barbecue items don't instantly put Katana into a price range that would welcome the uninitiated, there are some nice steals. $39 buys two people table-side grilled American Kobe steak and crab legs, ten bucks gets you poke, six-dollar cocktails include sangria and a Champagne St. Germain, while eight buck drinks include watermelon margaritas. A splittable concoction of pineapple, melon, and Sky vodka served in a pineapple bowl is on offer for $20 and sounds secretly lethal.
