Wine Justice: Malibu Courthouse to Open A Tasting Room

The old Malibu Courthouse was built in 1933 as both a sheriff’s station and a tribunal, though as far back as last fall, it appeared to house both Terra restaurant and one of a million medical marijuana dispensaries. But soon the building will become the home of The Malibu Tasting Room, a sampling space that specializes in wines from Malibu and the Central Coast.

In addition, the early summer opening of this revamped historic space will find tapas served to go with the grape juice. The new business seeks to be the de facto champion of Malibu’s 50-plus vineyards and teases that this could be the place to try them all in one spot. One thing is for certain in L.A. today, there are more places to get a drink than ever before. Whether the side of the PCH is the wisest place to start quaffing is quite another question indeed, so remember to check yourself before the cops get the chance.
