It was wrong about Nancy Silverton burgers and slightly less wrong about Eataly landing on L.A., but that doesn’t stop the moral arbiters at Squid Ink from once again playing the scold when it comes to an Eater scoop. Today, the L.A. Weekly’s food blog clarifies yesterday’s report on Eater that Fairfax fave The Golden State is “looking to expand into Culver City.” Golden State owner Jason Bernstein tells the blog, “Unfortunately we haven’t locked any plans for expansion for Culver City at this time. It would be a great place for a Golden State though… Maybe [Squid Ink readers] can suggest a terrific location for us to look at… ” Hey, we’ve got one: The new location of Five Guys, which reminds us to never believe the hype. Anyway, what’s going on in Echo Park?

Quarry Girl reports (and the omniscient EaterWire confirms) that Tony Yanow’s heavily anticipated new beer bar Mohawk Bend is pushing back its original opening date of June 28th. She’s always particularly bummed out to hear the news as she promises this is will be a vegan paradise (due to a vegan fryer and vegan pizza oven) in addition to a ballpark of beer worship.

Quarry says, “I have never been so excited about a place opening before!” while Yanow writes, “Mohawk’s opening has been delayed, unfortunately. We are hoping to open as soon as we can and want to thank everyone for your patience and support. We can’t wait to open!” Here’s hoping, for once, that this girl gets what she wants.
