Perusing the Twitterverse today, something caught our eye from KCRW's "Good Food" host, Evan Kleiman: "All hell is breaking loose at Rawsome in SM. Owner in Jail, super raid. More info coming." After sending over a producer, they learned that Rawsome Foods owner James Stewart was arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime, and that $123,000 bail was set. What's the conspiracy? Selling raw milk, the same thing the store was raided for back in June. But there's a lot more to the story.

Squid Ink reports that, per the DA's office, Stewart and two others were arrested "on criminal conspiracy charges stemming from the alleged illegal production and sale of unpasteurized goat milk, goat cheese, yogurt and kefir." One volunteer working at the store estimates that 500 gallons of dairy were tossed. Thank goodness our police force is keeping the streets safe from milk.
