Get Your Pre-Theater Grub On at The Getty Villa

At the Getty Villa

The Getty Villa's recent Roman feast went off so well that the museum is expanding its dining options with seasonal pre-fixe theater menus that correspond to performances taking place here. Chef Mayet Cristobal's first inspiration will be The Trojan Women (After Euripides), a new play by New York's SITI Company that was commissioned by the Getty and premieres tomorrow night. So, what's for dinner?

Before the show starts, Cristobal will prepare a 6:15 P.M., $55 sit-down dinner ($70 with paired wines) in the private dining room that overlooks the amphitheater, with a starter of burrata with heirloom tomatoes, a choice of Alaskan halibut, Chianti-braised short ribs, or herbed ricotta cannelloni, and a cookie course with coffee. Cristobal also plans a selection of boxed dinners with sandwiches and charcuterie for the guy who's rushing to his seat. See the menu online and make reservations on The Getty's website.
