Chef Farid Zadi, who opened Culver City's Eat.Good.Clean.Food last month with his wife and partner Susan Park, is changing their restaurant and market into a new cafe concept with a new name. Cafe Livre et Le Marche, still a bit of an awkward mouthful, will open on November 1st as a take-out focused concept with the same professional quality of cuisine, with Zadi writing to us, "Eat. Good. Clean. Food. was a temporary name. Now it's our motto."

The new cafe will have 30 seats and a scattering of tables in and outdoors. The restaurant will be what the chef compares to a "fast-casual bistro" with everything cooked from scratch, then packaged for take-out in a quick service atmosphere. Zadi will create weekly menus with a strong French core, as well as introducing dishes from a range of Mediterranean cultures and offering goods to-go.

Zadi relates that the cafe will produce chef-quality "wholesome" meals in a collaboration with Creative Cuisine Catering, intended for busy lives and hard-working professionals who may not have the time to sit down for a full-service meal.

Cafe Livre et Le Marche opens November 1st, Monday through Saturday, 11:00 A.M.-7:00 P.M. at 9626 Venice Blvd. Culver City. 310-842-9078. See the first week's menu below.
