Great news for fans of all-you-can-eat Japanese/Chinese feeding post Hokkaido Seafood Buffet, even if it does set the stage for us to become really, really fat. We just spoke with the restaurant’s corporate offices in Long Beach and are told that the crew is furiously working to open the West L.A. location by the end of this month or sometime in early November. Why are we so thrilled?

Initially a little skeptical about a place serving limitless sushi, teppanyaki, crab legs, dumplings, clam chowder, short ribs, prime rib, sausages, and calamari (we really could go on and on like this, let’s just say they have everything) for $10.99 at lunch and $19.99 at dinner and on weekends, we quickly developed a fixation with this place. The raw fish alone is vastly better than some of the most popular, discounted sushi spots on the Westside. We can’t wait to have Hokkaido in a more central L.A. position, even if it means you might not recognize us next time we waddle into your life.
