We have a winner in our contest for two free tasting tour tickets to this Sunday’s Taste of Abbot Kinney event, courtesy of Inside Out Community Arts. We asked you what you’d like to see this year at the event and begged you to make us laugh, something we still kind of need to work on going forward. In the end, our team of city editors picked a winner, and though the results weren’t unanimous, one lucky Grub Street L.A. reader is heading to AK this Sunday with a pal. Who will it be?
The tickets go to reader Michael Cohen, who is dying to witness another celebrity-on-chef confrontation at Gjelina. Cohen writes:
I wanna see an uptight celebrity (such as Posh Spice) go up to the Gjelina booth and ask, “yeah, so can I have the CRISPY PORK BELLY WITH POLENTA made with boneless, skinless chicken breast instead of pork and,because I’m allergic to corn, can you switch the polenta for brown rice?” The Gjelina folks then go “yeah, no.”
