Maison Giraud Hoping to Open This Week

Unfortunately, a manager at former Bastide and Anisette chef Alain Giraud’s new bistro and French market, Maison Giraud, tells us it is not opening today in the Pacific Palisades as reported elsewhere, continuing an epic 13-month wait for the return of one of our city’s most revered French chefs. C’est la vie, eh mecs? According to the restaurant, the wait will not be much longer, however, as the plan is to spring Maison Giraud’s doors wide open sometime this week, with the restaurant currently taking email addresses over the phone to announce to interested parties once an opening date looks certain. Still, there is light pouring from the end of the tunnel.

Monsieur Giraud

Eater, who insists the place might be open on the low-down, sports a few interior shots of the clean, straight-forward assemblage of white tableclothed mesas and chalkboard menus, along with the neighboring nook that will sell fashions and home-wares from Giraud’s beloved.

Menus of the boulangerie breakfast and brunch items and classic French dinner entrees are yet to appear on the Facebook page or website, so here’s hoping L.A. gets the full picture by the time the week is through and before anyone makes the long drive to see Giraud and company.
